Windows

Here is another installment of photos from my one afternoon in St. Antonin. These are just a small assortment of the many different styles of windows that can be found in a village dating back to the middle ages & beyond.





From the humble to the stately.




You can find every type of construction.




The old timber framing creates the most interesting of patterns.






One can not help but love the elegant beauty in these crumbling walls.




And at the same time, it is hard not to wonder who once lived here. Who flung opened these windows & looked out onto the street below, so many years ago?
